Everyone looks forward to the midwinter break in the country and the course is run around the Bass Club's philosophy of self development, awareness and responsibility. All take part in cooking, cleaning, washing and fire making.

Master classes are held in soup making, vegetable peeling and sauce making. Aunty Nell's Cake class, Caroline’s Casserole and famous Turkey and pheasant roasts along with Anthony’s morning fry up and Sam’s flap jacks are very popular classes. Dinners are candle lit and students are looked after and cared for by each other along with Aunty Nell’s negotiations and courageous Caroline’s advice.

Outside activities are very popular and include the beach walks, collecting firewood, shopping in Little Burnham market and seeing how many people can sit in Caroline’s Van. Grade 4 in pheasant plucking is not required.
